Barium chromate 98% purified [10294-40-3]
Barium chromate used in medicine as a contrast in X-ray and computed tomography (barytes). It absorbs X-rays and gamma rays well, is used as a component of radiation shields.
It is also used in cosmetics outside the European Union as a dye, as well as an opacifying and thickening agent. In the European Union, the use of barium sulfate in cosmetics is not allowed.
