Sodium fluoride is used in glasses and enamels, for impregnating wood, as a bactericide in the fermentation industry and for degassing steel, commonly used as an additive to toothpaste to prevent tooth decay. Used for the production of pesticides and as an insecticide and acaricide. Also in the fluoridation of water, disinfection of distillation apparatus and in the preparation of other fluorine salts.
